- NOTES:
- 1. For service temperatures above 850 F it is recommended that killed steels containing not less than 0.10% residual silicon be used.
- 2. Upon prolonged exposure to temperatures above 800 F, the carbide phase of carbon steel may be converted to graphite.
- 3. The material shall not be used in thickness above 2-1/2 in.
Flanges of ANSI B16.5 shall not be used for higher ratings except where it is justified by the design methods of the Code.
Ratings are maximum allowable non-shock working pressures expressed as gage pressure, at the tabulated temperatures and may be interpolated between temperatures shown.
Temperatures are those on the inside of the pressure-containing shell of the flange. In general, it is the same as that of the contained material.

carbon steel flat face flanges Manufacturers
he Flat Face (FF) flange has a gasket surface in the same plane as the bolting circle face. Applications using flat face flanges are frequently those in which the mating flange or flanged fitting is made from a casting. Flat face flanges are never to be bolted to a raised face flange. ASME B31.1 says that when connecting flat face cast iron flanges to carbon steel flanges, the raised face on the carbon steel flange must be removed, and that a full face gasket is required. This is to keep the thin, bittle cast iron flange from being sprung into the gap caused by the raised face of the carbon steel flange.

Carbon Steel Forged Flanges
A flange is defined as a plate type device, normally round, that is attached to the end of a pipe, fitting, valve or other object to facilitate the assembly and disassembly of a piping system.
Flanges are manufactured in all the different materials to match the material of the pipe and fittings to which they are being attached. While some flanges are made of Cast Iron, the vast majority of flanges are forged carbon steel.
Forged steel flanges are made in seven primary ratings: Class 150, Class 300, Class 400, Class 600, Class 900, Class 1500 & Class 2500
Flange Types
- Weld Neck Flanges
- Slip-On Flanges

carbon steel lap joint flanges
Lap joint pipe flanges slide directly over the pipe and are most commonly used with stub end fittings. A pipe is usually welded to the Stub End and the Lap Joint pipe flange is free to rotate around the stub end. The benefit of this is that there will not be any issues with bolt hole alignment. Lap Joint pipe flanges are often used for applications that require frequent dismantling.

carbon steel orifice flange manufacturers
Orifice flanges are used instead of the standard pipe flanges when orifice plate or flow nozzle is used. In other words, orifice flanges are used with orifice meters. The basic purpose for this is to measuring the flow rate of either gases or liquids in the respective pipeline. These flanges are used in various industrial applications and are available in various sizes and materials. All orifice flange units are supplied with the plate, pressure connection holes, and jack screws.
We offer a comprehensive range of Orifice Flanges, which is used for measuring the flow rate of either gases or liquids in the respective pipeline. These flanges are available in various sizes, shapes, and dimensions. We ensure to test our range on well defined parameters at our own premises to deliver flawless products.
Material
Carbon steel: ASTM A105,ASTM A105N,GB 20,C22.8.
Low temperature steel: ASTM/ASME A402 WPL 3-WPL 6
Key Features:
- Come with either raised faces or ring type joint (RTJ ) facings.
- The orifice flanges have modifications of radial tapped holes in the flange ring for meter connections.
- There are the orifice plate carriers in these flanges for the reason of fitting meter connections.
- The additional bolts available serve as a jack to allow the separation of the two flanges to change the orifice plate or for other relevant services like inspection.
Uses of orifice flanges:
- The basic purpose of an orifice flange is used to flow/rate metering of piping systems.
- They are used for all intensive purposes, similar to weld neck and slip-on flanges with extra machining

carbon steel raised face flanges Manufacturer
The Raised Face flange is the most common type used in process plant applications, and is easily to identify. It is referred to as a raised face because the gasket surfaces are raised above the bolting circle face. This face type allows the use of a wide combination of gasket designs, including flat ring sheet types and metallic composites such as spiral wound and double jacketed types.
The purpose of a RF flange is to concentrate more pressure on a smaller gasket area and thereby increase the pressure containment capability of the joint. Diameter and height are in ASME B16.5 defined, by pressure class and diameter. Pressure rating of the flange determines the height of the raised face.
The typical flange face finish for ASME B16.5 RF flanges is 125 to 250 µin Ra (3 to 6 µm Ra).
